Přízraky v Umagu — Úsvit naděje III | The Return to Umag — lyrics

Texty skladeb z alba Přízraky v Umagu — Úsvit naděje III | The Return to Umag.

Třetí a závěrečná část trilogie Úsvit naděje začíná ještě v Benátkách.

První album otevřelo Umag a paměť míst, druhé prošlo přízraky vztahů a benátskou mezihrou; The Return to Umag se vrací tam, odkud celý cyklus vyšel.

Lyrics

21 — Rialto — Black Water, White Breath

The boat takes on strangers,
wet wood, heavier air.
I shrink inside my jacket
like I’m hiding a flare.

A stare from the water,
a watcher without a face.
Not looking straight at me—
just living in the space.

We drift toward Rialto,
massive, closing in.
My body knows the story
before my thoughts begin.

Black water, white breath,
Rialto overhead.
Black water, white breath—
everything I never said.
The arches press my chest,
the canal won’t forget:
black water, white breath,
black water, white breath.

“That’s where it happened?”
You ask it like a fact.
I jolt—too fast, too loud—
my voice climbs up and cracks.

You sit there calm,
half-smiling,
as if the rain made you.
Your coat is dark with water.
Your eyes stay clean and true.

(PARK / low)
I’m not pushing.

(STANO / low)
Then why can’t I breathe?

(PARK / almost whisper)
Because bridges remember
what you try to leave.

Black water, white breath,
Rialto overhead.
Black water, white breath—
everything I never said.
The arches press my chest,
the canal won’t forget:
black water, white breath,
black water, white breath.

22 — Appears from the Rain

Grey rain.
Grey city.
Then— you.

Not a footstep,
not a warning.
Just a shape
where there was none.

Wet coat,
no complaint.
You look at me
like time is done.

My voice jumps higher
than I meant.
Your face stays calm—
almost amused.

You appear from the rain,
from the city’s grey.
You appear from the rain—
then you look my fear away.
Wet coat, clean eyes,
no hurry, no stain:
you appear from the rain,
you appear from the rain.

Tourists point at arches,
flash, flash, flash.
Nobody sees
what just arrived.

I hide my hands,
I hide the shake.
You stand beside me
like you’ve always lived.

Say nothing.
Just be here.
That’s worse.
That’s mercy.

You appear from the rain,
from the city’s grey.
You appear from the rain—
then you look my fear away.
Wet coat, clean eyes,
no hurry, no stain:
you appear from the rain,
you appear from the rain.

23 — The Bridge That Remembers

Stone remembers.
Water repeats.

Rialto above us,
arches like ribs.
The city presses down
and my breath forgets how to live.

More faces, less air,
crowd turning slow.
Black water underneath—
an eye that won’t let go.

The bridge that remembers,
the bridge that remembers.
It keeps the weight.
It keeps the tremor.
The bridge that remembers.

You ask it plain and quiet:
“Is this where it happened?”
A simple sentence,
and my body answers—
before my mouth can.

Stone holds the shape of fear,
water holds the sound.
I stand in moving Venice
and still I’m pinned to ground.

(PARK)
Places don’t forget.

(STANO)
Neither do I.

(PARK)
Then stop calling it weather.

The bridge that remembers,
the bridge that remembers.
Black water.
White breath.
The bridge that remembers.

24 — The Venice Prince

Same platform, same cold light,
grey bones of a station.
For a second I believe
time is a superstition.

But it’s only space—
the trick it likes to play.
I carry all the weather
and pretend it went away.

Returns don’t feel like rescue.
They feel like proof.
Like holding what you lost
and finding it’s not smooth.

Re-entry, re-entry—
back into the frame.
Re-entry, re-entry—
Umag says my name.
Not a victory.
Not a clean reset.
Re-entry, re-entry—
the kind you don’t forget.

A voice in the street goes:
“Stano Murin—here?”
Like the city built a mirror
and called it sincere.

Bura keeps working,
sea keeps sanding stone.
And I walk like I’m returning
to a place that isn’t home.

I thought travel would erase me.
It only rearranged.
The door opens.
I step in.
And everything I hid—
stays.

Re-entry, re-entry—
back into the frame.
Re-entry, re-entry—
Umag says my name.
Not a victory.
Not a clean reset.
Re-entry, re-entry—
the kind you don’t forget.

25 — The Answer That Won’t Speak

You sit like you’re a verdict
that doesn’t need a voice.
A cigarette hisses—
the wind tears it into noise.

Someone says “you’ll marry,”
like weather on the news.
It hits the hidden place in me
I swear I never use.

Not you as a person.
Not only you.
But what you keep unlocking—
a door with no label, no proof.

You’re the answer that won’t speak,
the calm that makes me wait.
You’re the answer that won’t speak—
a pause that turns to weight.
I nod, I smile, I play along,
while something in me leaks:
you’re the answer that won’t speak,
the answer that won’t speak.

You talk about the season,
how prices shift and fall.
I laugh at the right seconds,
but I’m not here at all.

I’m in that single point inside
where quiet isn’t peace—
just waiting in a clean shirt
for a sentence to release.

In your silence:
defiance.
Curiosity.
Who will break first?

I won’t.
But I’m already broken.

You’re the answer that won’t speak,
the calm that makes me wait.
You’re the answer that won’t speak—
a pause that turns to weight.
I nod, I smile, I play along,
while something in me leaks:
you’re the answer that won’t speak,
the answer that won’t speak.

26 — The Little Bird

Cold wind.
No color.
Only shape.

I stand at the window
and don’t move.
Like if I stay still enough
the world will prove—

a branch will twitch,
a small wing will appear.
A phone will ring.
A step will be here.

I waited for something.
I waited for a sign.
A bird on the branch.
A door in time.
I waited for something—
and then: nothing.

Leaves spin in the corner,
dead-color, only form.
The yard keeps breathing
like it doesn’t know the storm.

I tell my hands to open.
I tell my throat to speak.
But the day stays blank
where the miracle should be.

I waited for something.
I waited for a sign.
A bird on the branch.
A door in time.
I waited for something—
and then: nothing.

27 — Pavel’s Death

No details.
Just the fact.
And the room goes flat.

You bring me tea,
hands vibrating.
I don’t turn my head—
I keep staring.

As if the ceiling
has the answer.
As if a white square
can cancel disaster.

You say the sentence
like you’re closing a door.
You keep the dirty parts
inside your core.

Pavel is gone.
Pavel is gone.
And it starts raining inside me
with no sky to lean on.
Pavel is gone—
say it again, if you must.
Pavel is gone,
and the house turns to dust.

Cold jugo outside,
the yard won’t warm.
Leaves in the gazebo—
no color, only form.

You squeeze my hand
to test the wire.
I don’t move.
My face just… pours.

Don’t explain it.
Don’t soften it.
If you give it edges
I might survive it.

But right now
I’m only weather.

Pavel is gone.
Pavel is gone.
And it starts raining inside me
with no sky to lean on.
Pavel is gone—
I can’t make room for the fact.
Pavel is gone,
and I don’t come back.

28 — Mirror Dress

Tape rolling.
Hold the day down.

I talk to a microphone,
metal that won’t flinch.
Hollow voice,
steady line—
a ritual, a stitch.

I tie the day to the floor
so it can’t fly away.
If I stop speaking,
the night will make me pay.

But grief is a bad tenant.
It breaks the rules.
It waits behind the curtains
with heavy tools.

Mirror dress, mirror dress,
made of “fine, I’m fine.”
Mirror dress, mirror dress—
shards in a straight line.
If you look too close
you’ll see the cracks confess:
mirror dress, mirror dress.

Why, why, why—
my cane becomes a storm.
I hit the cage till the latch gives—
fear grows wings, takes form.

A frame goes down,
I stamp until it snaps.
Porcelain sings in pieces—
little bells for the gaps.

I don’t want a lesson.
I want my “why” to work.
I want the world to answer
without a shrug.

And when it doesn’t—
I break the room
so it matches me.

Mirror dress, mirror dress,
made of “fine, I’m fine.”
Mirror dress, mirror dress—
shards in a straight line.
Hold me at my knees,
hold me through the mess:
mirror dress, mirror dress.

29 — Hold My Name

I see you.
That’s not welcome.
That’s a line.

Come in.
Wipe your feet.
Leave the storm behind.

My voice won’t shake.
My hands won’t plead.
I learned the way to help
without the need.

Hold my name
in your mouth—
not loud.
Hold my name
in the dark—
like a vow
without a crowd.
If everything falls silent,
let one thing remain:
hold my name,
hold my name.

Good morning—
not a kiss.
A gate.

I count the breathing.
I check the weight.
If you break,
do it here.
I’ll hold the shape.

I don’t give comfort
the way people expect.
I give you a place
where truth can sit—
and be correct.

Say it once.
Then live.

Hold my name
in your mouth—
not loud.
Hold my name
in the dark—
like a vow
without a crowd.
If everything falls silent,
let one thing remain:
hold my name,
hold my name.

30 — Úsvit naděje

Kouřem všech mých cigaret,
roztančím dnes večer celý svět,
kde nejsem víc, zpět
už nelze vzít mé adieu.
Já nestojím a nečekám,
jdu vpřed a hledím do daleka,
kde mraky tmavnou do černa,
vím, už nelze vzít zpět mé adieu.
Tam, kde tma je nejtmavší,
zdá se mi život nejsnazší,
bez všeho i bez tebe můj nejdražší,
v té tmě je úsvit naděje.
Miláčku můj přesladký,
nemarni čas a zhasni
tu svíci na počest mou, dál sni
o životě a mně už řekni adieu.
Však ty jsi šel, tam kam jsi měl,
svou cestou bez pravidel,
a jak jsi z života odešel,
v té tmě zbyl můj úsvit naděje.
Tam, kde tma je nejtmavší,
zdá se mi život nejsnazší,
bez všeho i bez tebe můj nejdražší,
v té tmě je úsvit naděje
Tys řekl, že se nezměním,
tys řekl, že postojím!
A já vpřed na znamení,
je to tak – mizím pryč a adieu.
Dnes už vím, kdože jsem já,
kolik cigaret jsem vykouřila,
na mě nikdo nečeká,
už nelze vzít zpět mé adieu.
Tam, kde tma je nejtmavší,
zdá se mi život nejsnazší,
bez všeho i bez tebe můj nejdražší,
v té tmě je úsvit naděje.
Tam, kde tma je nejtmavší,
zdá se mi život nejsnazší,
bez všeho i bez tebe můj nejdražší,
v té tmě je úsvit naděje.

Přízraky v Umagu — Úsvit naděje III | The Return to Umag

Přízraky v Umagu — Úsvit naděje III | The Return to Umag uzavírá třídílný soundtrackový cyklus Úsvit naděje ke knize Přízraky v Umagu, třetí části světa Poslední noc v New Yorku / PNVNY Universe.

Třetí album jsme koncipovali jako skutečný návratový oblouk. Začíná ještě v Benátkách, kam druhou část dovedla závěrečná sekvence Cabaret of Ghosts. Odtud už vede cesta zpět do Umagu.

The Answer That Won’t Speak jsme spojovali s Valerianem, Mirror Dress s Celestýnou a Hold My Name s Ruth.

Just the fact.“ Po všech předchozích přízracích tak do příběhu vstoupí něco, co už není přelud, vzpomínka ani možnost návratu.
