It was already evening when Stano returned to Romeo and Ena’s house. The moment Gloria heard him approaching, she grew nervous and began rearranging the cutlery on the table. She did not want to let anything show, but she could not help herself. Stano, however, seemed preoccupied and barely noticed her. He came into the house, saw her in the dining room, wished her a good evening and hurried upstairs. Gloria remained standing by the table, fighting back tears. Something was happening inside her, something she could not understand. Part of her wanted Stano to be happy. Another part was consumed by a strange jealousy of the world he inhabited — a world that seemed mysterious and inaccessible to her. Whenever she tried to glimpse it, she felt like a thief. And with that came another fear: that one day he would punish her for looking. And now it was happening. He was not talking to her. He can feel it. He knows. He knows I’ve been watching him.

Stano returns to Croatia and to Villa Prepotentan, a place that forms a bridge to his past. There he is reunited with his original family — Gloria, Valerian, Ruth and Celestina — and unexpectedly meets Hyun Wook Park, an old companion from his travels. But returning to the villa also means returning to everything Stano once left behind.
